Skin2Skincare – Different Skin, Different Care

At S2S, we’re all about providing more than just viral TikTok challenges, temporary solutions, or quick but harmful solutions for your complexion. Our goal is to share knowledge that can be easily integrated into your daily life, promoting lifelong self-care. It’s tempting to focus solely on the aesthetics of your body, but have you considered that your hair, skin, and nails also serve as crucial indicators of your overall health? Unfortunately, these areas are often overlooked. That’s why we’re here to remind you that skincare is a fundamental aspect of your daily routine. In fact, it’s so important that we named our blog after it! From now on whenever you think of skin, think care – they go hand in handโ€ฆ skin to skin! The โ€œtoโ€/”2″ in our name represents our unwavering commitment to this journey and the two authors behind the blog. We bring diverse perspectives to create a unique space tailored to your needs. So, let’s make skincare a priority and embark on this journey together!

Now get ready to dive into the personal stories of our two authors! One of us battles with eczema and dry skin, while the other struggles with combination skin and acne scars. Our unique experiences allow us to understand that skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all, and what works for one person may not work for another. We’re excited to share our journeys with you, so you can relate and find the best solutions for your skin type. At S2S, we recognize that different skin requires different care, and we’re here to help you navigate through it all!

Eric aka the โ€œStrong yet Sensitiveโ€

โ€œJust donโ€™t scratch.โ€ I was told this countless times by family and friends, when I inevitably gave in to the urge to itch my skin. I wouldnโ€™t stop itching until it bled, much to the dismay of my onlookers, but to me it just felt too good.

Growing up with atopic dermatitis (eczema), Iโ€™ve always had to be extra careful with taking care of my skin. This forced me at an earlier age to dive into the world of skincare. Iโ€™ve had the opportunity to try many different approaches to control my skin from using humidifiers/air purifiers to different diets and obviously many different skincare products.

But to me skincare is more than just moisturizing and having a 10 step skincare routine. Its a lifestyle that includes things like what kind of climate you live in, what kind of activities or hobbies you enjoy, and how much stress is involved in your life.

Throughout the last decade, Iโ€™ve tried many different strategies to control my skin and Iโ€™m here to share with you what worked and what didnโ€™t. I aim to write down all my knowledge so that you donโ€™t have to waste your money and time repeating the same mistakes as I did.

Vicky aka the โ€œBalanced Beautyโ€

As a child, I always had sensitive skin that would react harshly to the sun. A mere 30 minutes of outdoor recess would leave me with hot, red bubbles (which I later learned were sun blisters) on my ears. Beach vacations were a nightmare as I would come back with red, sore eyes and occasional sun blisters all over my body despite wearing layers of sunscreen. While my skin condition has improved over time, those early experiences have left a lasting impression on me. They have taught me the importance of caring for my skin and prioritizing sun protection, whether it’s wearing sunglasses while hiking or applying sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days.

Nowadays, I have combination skin like my mom, with a very oily T-zone and dry forehead. Persistent blackheads and large pores on my nose have also been a challenge. But after trying countless products and scouring dozens of blogs and videos for recommendations, I’ve finally found a routine that works for me and that I can stick to.

Through our blog, I aim to provide you with valuable insights and practical tips that will help you find the perfect balance for your skin. So get ready to join me on a journey of self-discovery and skin care as I share with you my tried-and-tested products for dealing with combination and sensitive skin.
